Sheldon's rise to the challenge this Christmas

Out in full force, Sheldon's little helpers made Mission Christmas a success!

December 16, 2014

Sadly not everyone can have a magical Christmas. There are estimated to be 150,000 underprivileged kids for whom Christmas won't be a special day. That's 150,000 too many. So at this time of year we send our little helpers to Asda, to collect presents for Manchester's underprivileged kids, so they too can have a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks to you lovely, generous people, these underprivileged kids of Manchester got some fabulous surprises this Christmas. Pictured here are the lovely Sarah Sheldon (first lady of Sheldon's), with the equally lovely Sheila Bonham, and all the lovely toys.

The Asda staff at the Eastlands' store donated over £2000 worth of toys to our Mission Christmas Appeal - that's about 10 sleighs full! All the gifts were collected in our vintage delivery truck Bertha - specially decorated in full Christmas regalia for the occasion. The presents were then handed over to the MEN and Key 103’s Mission Christmas Appeal - which aims to collect thousands of gifts for babies, children and teenagers who would otherwise have nothing to open on the big day. We only wish we could have been there to see the smiles on their faces.

Thank you so much for your kindness, everyone!
